Fox's Lou Dobbs: Dr. Suess "Indocrinating Our Children" about Green Energy

Last night on the Fox Business show, Media Matters reports, Lou Dobbs had some rather startling revelations to make:

“Now, an “Unmentionable” — a story you won’t hear anywhere in the liberal national media, or nearly all of the national liberal media. Hollywood is once again trying to indoctrinate our children. Two new films out this year, plainly with an agenda, plainly demonizing the so-called “1 percent” and espousing the virtue of green-energy policies, come what may.”

Santa Clause is also indoctrinating our children. A guy in a subliminally suggestive red suit giving away goods to everyone. A commie if I ever heard one.

There was a time not so long ago that the destruction of your environment was universally recognized as a bad idea. Whether you believe global warming is real or not, I think we can all agree that breathing polluted air and drinking toxic water is is rough on the body (let’s not forget about the mercury in fish either).

Pick up any world history book and they will plainly tell you more civilizations have fallen for these two reasons than any other.

We need to vote everyone with ties to Big Oil out of government. The future of the US depends upon it. Other nations that are not governed by the fossil fuel industry are making huge strides in energy independence by becoming independent of their use and need for fossil fuels while the GOP is chanting "Drill, baby, drill"!

Robert - from Arlo Guthrie's song?

Let's get Santa Claus 'cause;
Santa Claus has a red suit - He's a communist
Has a beard, and long hair - Must be a pacifist
What's in the pipe that he's smoking?
Mister Claus sneaks in your home at night.
He must be a dope fiend, to put you up tight.

Dobbs looks like a rabid guinea pig, but with less charm and worse ideas. Another "rape the planet, women, customers, employees, everything, for fun and/or profit" goon.

We need to vote everyone with ties to Big Oil out of government

But then we wont have a government. This qoute is from the LA Times in 2008 "Obama has taken at least $263,000 from oil company executives, family members and employees since entering the presidential race"

So now who can we have as president if we're kicking out every politician that takes money from big oil?? I guess you could vote for me. Well, no, I get 3% cash back on my gas purchases at BP so I'm out.

hey guys, easy on santa with the commie comments. that red suit came from coca cola.

what you should be concerned with about that guy clause is that when you look at his first name there, what do you see? go ahead and anagram it.

there you go, you've got it.

It is a shame that the commie movie producers are using his works as a fascade for the green energy cult.

Seems to me you should be cheering them on... capitalism at it best....They are going make a ton of money...

I guess you could vote for me.

ok, but you have to chant "GO BLUE" twice during each and every campaign speech and advertisement.

oh, yeah that cash back thing that you received is going to hurt. you could always return it or donate to charity.

Oh the wonderful things Mr Brown can push,

He can sell wind turbines that go wooosh wooosh

He can find different ways for money to channel

He can send tax dollars to makers of solar panels

He pushes for cars like the Chevy Volt

Mr. Brown must be some kind of dolt.

"The Chevy volt is selling very well last time i checked...."

Last time I checked, the government was giving bit tax credits to help sell the car. Let's see how they do on their own for a change. The reality is, I can buy a volkswagen TDI and get the same average mileage on trips and pay less for the car.

Better than indoctrinating your children with racism and hate like Fox News and Lou Dobbs. Lou has completely lost his mind. Teletubby recycle?

Mr Dobbs was at one time a respected business commentator before he sold out to Fox. I wonder if he ever reflects back on that time when he had integrity and people actually cared what he had to say.

I wouldn't worry too much about Mr. Dobbs. If a hole in one's soul can be filled that easily with money, then it wasn't much of a soul to begin with.

Yes, so now instead of erudite comments and insight on world financial matters he gets to rant and rave about that pervert Dr.Suess. I suspect that somewhere in that dark soul he must know how ridiculous this is. The real question is why would Fox encourage such a change, and why would they be willing to pay for it?

The fact that Dr. Suess books have an ethical/ political message is not new.

Personally, I think many of these conservative pundits would do well to go back and re-read the Seuss books. They might learn something.

It's my understanding that ALL childrens stories, going back through the centuries, carry some kind of "message". Considering the population explosion of the last 150 years, the one which is projected to continue, perhaps a childrens story about changing the ways in which people interact with their environment isn't such a bad idea. There's a big difference between the indiscriminate exploitation of resources of 1 billion people compared to that of 10 billion, especially when in parallel, the population is ever increasingly moving towards the "consumer" lifestyle. If ever there was an idea to plant in minds of young people, this is it.

Perhaps Lou Dobbs simply needs to ride off into the sunset. His opinions have become much to radical right-wing GOPers to be taken seriously. Perhaps it's why CNN got rid of him.

Fox is on a roll. First: Sesame Street and then Sponge Bob..followed by The Muppets and now Dr.Seuss. This is the news station of the GOP? When will they do do a Falwell repeat of Tinky Winky?

      Why does Fox hate children?

Because children aren't fetuses and they aren't old enough to work for Koch.

They didn't like Barney either (well, that's not exclusive to them, but for the wrong reason in their case). Don't tell them about Porky Pig not wearing trousers or that Rocky the Flying Squirrel had a girl's voice.
